“We are blind and live our blind lives out in blindness. Poets are damned but they are not blind, they see with the eyes of angels.”
– William Carlos Williams in a introduction to ‘Howl,’ by Allen Ginsberg

  1. 127 HOURS feels way beyond my level of comfort or security. Brave times two, going to see it in icy weather. People who talk in movies is one of the great mysteries, not great as in good.

Rave on, WCW, AG. Rave on, poets, writers. xo

    1. It rattled me, that’s for sure. Not quite sure where it took me, but the sun is out today and we are doing a deep clean of papers and clutter, so am feeling better.
      rave on rave on!

  2. Sometimes, I think, Rachel, poets are just too vulnerable to the dangers and hurts of the world where people live. Especially if you are deeply engaged in a project, you can get blind-sided because a part of you is so emerged in your working self’s interests and needs. It’s like going out in a blizzard without a parka, boots, a hat or mittens–you feel every flake like a bullet of ice.

    Glad today is better. xo

    1. Yes, certain words seem to shout out louder than others right now. I’m having to take it slow some days – not push myself too much and make an effort to see things that make life beautiful too. Like the moon the other night and we had a warm night and that was heaven.
There have been days where I’ve felt a breeze on the inside. I have no armor, no skin. Those seem to be my most quiet days – I have to protect myself somehow.
It IS like a blizzard and ice bullets. I’m still waiting for spring!
      xoxo
