The hibernating Tula Bear

Last night it dipped down to 40 degrees and we woke up this morning freezing with open windows. It’s been so nice lately, the lilacs in shotgun position. I can smell their blooms peeling open from the backyard.
I want to be sleeping still, curled around Pat’s back and cologne. His leg was bare this morning, resting on my abdomen and when I put my hand on it it felt as if I was wielding a thick sword.
This was the cat while we were getting ready for work ———————->
And that is an old twin blanket I’ve had since I was a little girl. Why it’s on my queen bed now, I’m not sure, but even Tula knew it was too cold to wake up. She’s usually up and around in the mornings. Man, to be a cat some days…

I love this photo. It makes me feel completely comforted.

    1. She looked so cozy when we woke up. I covered her with the rest of the blanket and she curled up even more and gave me her chin. She’s my child, that’s for sure. I think people are rewarded for their hardships by being reborn a house cat.
