I've been thinking about these for a while …

From my mom – yay mom! Who says moms need to make healthy food?

Sticky Buns of the sticky kind:

Spray a bundt pan with Pam. Generously sprinkle coarsely chopped pecans on the bottom. Place on top of the pecans a single layer (I can get ~12) of Texas Rhodes frozen rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon. Then sprinkle on a little more than 1/2 a 3-ounce package of regular (not instant) Butterscotch Pudding mix. Melt  a stick of butter and stir in over medium heat 1 cup brown sugar, cooking until melted. Drizzle over rolls. Cover with a tea towel and leave out overnight. (if house is cool/cold rolls won’t rise very well, so make sure they’re in a warm place. I’ve tried heating the oven to the lowest temp, turning it off and keeping them in there but you have to keep checking that the oven doesn’t get too cool, so you may need to repeat turning oven on, but pull rolls out as you rewarm oven!)

Bake next morning at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Yummmmmmmmmm

  1. Okaaay… this is weird enough to maybe try. 🙂

  2. It’s good ole American FAT food! Nuts, sugar and dough. They are fantastic!

  3. My eyes are rolling back in my head, to think of waking up to this…a little cafe in our town has creme brule french toast, from the gilding the lily school of cooking.

  4. I miss California food. I grew up there and no where else is it the same. The fruit, the bread, the freshness, the everything, the innovation. I dream about the food there.
