Saturday, I got word from Gather Kindling that a short poem of mine is going to appear in the March issue. When I first submitted this 3 line poem, I figured it was a long shot, but I did it anyway because I loved the idea of this “magazine.” I hope you check it out – they print their poems, flash fiction, illustrations on index cards (about 20 or so per issue) and send them out in an envelope and VOILA: They have an issue. Poem on the front, bio on the back. Little notes and anecdotes for a busy world. I’m really honored to be a part of such a unique idea. Really excited they wanted to include me. I’m slaying my giant slowly. Knowing I can wrangle another acceptance gives me confidence to face the 20 rejections I know are coming.

Congratulations and hooray for a magazine printed on index cards. To receive them all in their snug envelope. Well, I think I’ve become a fan. xo

I can’t wait to see it in the mail! Although, I’ll have to – March is still a ways away. Thank you! The second feels good.
