Galleys!

I got an email of galleys for “Menacing Hedge” AND I’M ON THERE I’M ACTUALLY ON THERE! Two years ago I didn’t even know what the hell “galleys” were – they sound like a mix between gutters and valleys – for the people who (like me) don’t (didn’t) know what they are: proofs, basically, but proofs PROOF that your work will be out in the world somewhere soon. I had to listen to my voice which is torture and look at my picture and read what I wrote about myself and the painfully shy part of me wanted to stick my head in the sand and wave my legs around in acknowledgment so no one can see my face flushed and exposed – feet don’t blush, they just get sweaty.
But I’m excited. So very excited. I have so much more to do.
