Dearly Beloved,

Can I tell you something serious? When you outlive me, because I know you will, and I’m not just saying this because I’ve had a few beers, I’ve actually thought about this before, a few times, but when you outlive me and people ask you at my eulogy: what was life like with Pat? I want you to say, because I hope it’s true most of all, I want you to say, simply, ‘It was fun.’ That’s what I want when you’re old and you look back: to know that our life was fun.
