My walk is a lot like your walk

Gray bag full of empty keylight cans
crumpled lotto ticket
garbage sweating inside yellow plastic
Sausage McMuffin paper
cigarette butts – always cigarette butts
Aspirin wrapper
bird’s wing, torn off, feathers plucked, red knobby bone
leaves caught in chain link
sparrows flitting, fighting on the roof of a stopped car
An old man, stooped on isolated police stairs, smoking a cigarette
Coke in a clear cup, full with a white straw, dangerously lined up with the wheel of a car
I’m hungry today.
