Amazon woman

This morning is the amazon. The night slipping off the mountains like a silk gown, the fog still sleeping heavily. There’s a drum in the distance and I don’t know why. Something is coming through the unknown. Today, looking outside, I could be living at the top of a Tibetan mountain. The exotic movements of the world without light. I’ll see the sun cut through the gray clouds and put warmth on my clothes drying on the back porch and maybe I’ll slip into them and go on with my day, but maybe I won’t slip into them at all and run naked through the fog until the sun catches up with me.
